Process 26 was contracted by Leighton Contractors to provide commissioning management services for their Design and Construct contract with Rio Tinto. The project consisted of a 25 MTPa Iron Ore Crushing, Stacking and Train Loading facility and the associated Infrastructure Support facility.
Process 26 developed in conjunction with Leighton the management plan, commissioning schedule and all commissioning documentation.
The project was divided into 15 commissioning zones, and work method statements, Inspection and Test Plans and Check sheets were developed for each.
The commissioning zones were:
- ROM Bin & Apron Feeder
- Primary Sizer
- Primary Discharge Conveyor
- Secondary Sizer Station
- Secondary Discharge Conveyor
- Stacker Conveyor
- Train Loadout
- Fixed Plant Buildings
- Fuel and Lubrication Facility
- Heavy Vehicle Workshop
- Warehouse, Welding & Tyre Bay
- Heavy / Light Vehicle Washdown
- Potable Water System
- Raw Water System
- Waste Water Treatment System
The commissioning occurred over a 4 month period in full compliance with Rio Tinto Ironsafe procedures.
